Chinese Contract Inglis Hi-Power

Made circa 1944-45, at the Inglis facility in Canada. These guns, with their tangent sights and frames slotted for shoulder stocks were meant to be part of a contract for the Chinese Nationalist Government. They defaulted on the contract, with most being undelivered, winding up in Canadian service. Import marked on the front strap. Matching serials on the frame, slide and barrel. Barrel is 4-3/4″, with blade front sight and 500 meter rear tangent. Arsenal blued finish. Checkered plastic grips, 13 round metal magazine is “JI” marked (John Inglis). Includes original Canadian made holster/shoulder stock, marked “S.A.L TD./1944” on the side. CONDITION: Metal is very good overall, with some light scratches on the left side. Grips have light wear and scratches. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Magazine has some storage grease on the interior. Wood has exterior scratches and scrapes. A must have for any WW2 collection!
