Made circa 1917 for the Austrian Army during WW1. One of only about 13,000 made, with very few ever making their way to the states. It bears both a Germany Military acceptance proof (Austrian guns were taken directly from German stockpiles) and Austrian Military stamp on the right side of the chamber “Wn (eagle)17”. No import marks found. Matching serials, including the serrated wood grips. 5-1/2″ barrel with blade front sight and 1000 meter tangent rear. Original blued finish. Lanyard stud is present, but ring is absent. CONDITION: Metal is good overall, with general wear and finish loss. Grips have light wear and impressions. Bore is very lightly frosted, with very good rifling. A nice piece for your collection! C&R eligible.
