Made 1900 at Springfield Armory. Circled “P” proof on the bottom of the wrist. No visible cartouche on the left side. 1901 pattern Carbine rear sight, With “C” marked on the base and ladder. This rifle has the short lived knurled style cocking piece. 22″ barrel. Finish worn to a molten brown patina. Stock has been sanded and oiled. CONDITION: Metal is good overall, forming an even brown patina. Wood has light wear. There is a repaired crack on the hand guard. Bore is heavily frosted with good overall rifling. C&R eligible.
