Full Description

Often referred to as the “Commission Rifle”. This example was made 1890 by Ludwig Loewe in Berlin Germany. It receiver the 1905 update to Spitzer round, and had a Mauser type charger bridge added as well. Shipped to Turkey circa WW1. No import marks found. Matching serials on the receiver, barrel jacket and bolt (arsenal matched). Other parts are mismatched. Imperial proofs on the right side of the chamber. 29″ barrel with original blade front sight and added Turkish rear ladder. Arsenal blued finish. Wood has sanded and refinished with a “tiger stripe” pattern. Original smooth metal butt plate. Cleaning rod is present (added at some point). CONDITION: Metal is very good overall. Wood has handling marks and light wear. There are some surface cracks on the left side. Bore is lightly frosted around the lands. Grooves remain bright. Rifling is very good overall. Antique, no FFL required in most areas.
