Made 1940s by Savage in the U.S. and given to commonwealth nations under the lend lease program. This gun has remnants of green paint, which typical means this rifle was in the Pacific theater during WW2. No visible import/export marks. Matching serials on the socket and bolt. “1” marked bolt head. Most parts are “S” marked for Savage, including the stock. Blade front sight and MK III rear ladder. Military blued finish and oiled wood stock. CONDITION: Metal is good overall, with honest wear and finish loss. Wood has typical dents, scrapes and scratches. Bore is lightly frosted, with very strong two groove rifling. C&R Eligible.
