Full Description
This looks to be one of the rifles that the Stokes Company turned into a short rifle circa 1920S. Faint cartouche on the left side of the stock, and a circled “P” firing proof on the bottom of the wrist. 24″ barrel with blade front sight and 1901 pattern rear. Blued finish. Stock was lightly sanded and oiled, likely when this conversion was done. Includes attached, unmarked leather sling. CONDITION: Metal is good overall, with mixed wear and gray patina. There is a large gouge on the left side of the butt, with otherwise typical markings. Bore is frosted, with good overall rifling. Sling has wear and crazing. C&R eligible.
