“42” code (Mauser Oberndorf) gun, made 1940. This gun was purchased from a local veteran who said he brought it back from Vietnam. Unfortunately he did not have any paperwork for the gun. Matching serials on the barrel, receiver, follower, floor plate, trigger guard and rear sight. Stock and bands do not match. Bolt is not matching, but the components are matching to themselves. There are various Waffenamnts throughout. There is also a boxed Chinese/Vietnamese mark on the right side of the butt. Standard sights, military blued finish and oiled wood stock. CONDITION: Metal is good-very good overall, with normal wear. Wood has typical dents, impressions and scrapes. Bore is frosted, with very good overall rifling. An interesting K98 for your collection!
